Flour tortilla maker?
I need a really big tortilla maker for flour tortillas. I can only find small 6"-7" ones for corn tortillas and the big electric press/griddle one on amazon.com. I want just a good, metal 10" or bigger one that doesn't cook them, can you help me or am I destined to my rolling pin for all eternity?
Cheap food never equals healthy families.
Once you taste homemade tortillas, you'll never go back. I make whole wheat tortillas with flax seed, pumpkin seed and sunflower seed and made with olive oil. They're very good, like a gordita and they don't fall apart like those store bought ones.

- Personally, I would look on ebay...
- Do you know anyone who knows the way around a wood shop? I've seen plans for making a tortilla press, and it's pretty simple.

Scroll down to the wood press. Someone should be able to make one for 10" torts.

- I don't think you can press flour tortillas, they need to be stretched either hand patted or rolled, They are so cheap to buy I don't think any one goes through the trouble any more.
- Around here, we have lots of "thrift" shops, such as one run by a local Mission. They have all sorts of old stuff donated. I have not looked for what you want, but there is that potential. Some stuff is very old and/or very odd.
Here in the teensy city there is a thrift shop that supports a good cause, and sometimes they have strange things in their cookery section
And one used book store had used furniture and old appliances there, on occasion.
And south of town,. there is a guy who has all sorts of stuff, military surplus, used items, etc. Also look at the weekend auctions around. And we have a flea market place down the road a little bit, runs Saturdays in good weather.
And then there are the "thrifty Nickel" papers, and often they have estate sales where you might find such an item cheap.
Of course, if your hubby is a handyman, look in the local salvage dealers, might be parts enough to build one to your exact specifications!
Good luck.
